Independence and trademarks

AI on GitHub is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GitHub, Inc. or Microsoft Corporation. GitHub is a trademark of GitHub, Inc. Project names and logos belong to their respective owners.

“GitHub” appears in our name only to describe where most of these projects live. We have no relationship with GitHub, Inc., Microsoft, or any listed project, and none of them review, approve, or pay for what we publish. We do not use the GitHub logo, the Octocat, or GitHub’s visual identity.

Who runs this

AI on GitHub is an independent directory run by Syed Abbas Shaheer. It catalogues open-source AI projects so that someone who wants to build something can find the projects that already solved part of it, and see what they were built from.

How projects are found, classified and ordered

Projects are collected from public sources: mostly GitHub, through its public API, and also X, Reddit, YouTube, npm and direct submissions. We do not scrape pages that require a login.

Each project is placed in a category and tagged with capabilities by our own rules, and sometimes with AI assistance (see below). Ordering uses public signals such as stars, forks, activity and recency, combined with our editorial judgment.

Classification and ordering are our opinion, not an objective measure of quality, safety, or fitness for any purpose. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and a repository may be renamed, archived, or deleted after we index it. Always check the source.

Listing is not endorsement

Inclusion does not mean we have reviewed, audited, or vouch for a project. Open-source software can contain bugs, security vulnerabilities, or malicious code. Review the repository and its license before you install or run anything. This line also appears under every project.

Third-party content

Project names, descriptions, short excerpts, and images belong to their owners and are shown for identification and commentary under their own licenses. We show short excerpts only, never full READMEs, and we link to the original in every case. No rights in that material pass to you or to us.

Automated and AI classification

Categories and capability tags are produced by rules and, for some entries (including new submissions), suggested by an AI model and checked against the catalogue. They can be wrong. The project’s own repository is always the authoritative source.

Corrections, removal and grievances

Own a listed project, or appear in our data? You can ask us to correct, delist, or remove information about you or your project. No reason is needed.

Email hello@aiongithub.com with the project link. We acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 15 days, and we keep a dated record of every request and what we did about it.

Sponsorship

Nothing on AI on GitHub is sponsored, and no listing or position is paid for. If that ever changes, every paid placement will be labelled Sponsored where it appears, not only on this page.

Terms of use

1. Independence. The statement under Independence and trademarks is part of these terms.
2. As-is. The site and its data are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a purpose.
3. Your use of listed software. We are not liable for any loss arising from installing or running software you found here, or from relying on our classification or ordering. Listing is not endorsement.
4. Third-party content and links. Third-party content applies. We are not responsible for external sites we link to, including GitHub and the repositories themselves.
5. Submissions. By submitting a project you confirm you have the right to submit it and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it and its public metadata. We can edit, reject, or remove any submission.
6. Fair use of the site. No abusive or high-volume automated scraping, and no presenting our classification or ordering as an endorsement by GitHub or anyone else.
7. Changes. We may update these terms; the date at the top of this page changes when we do.
8. Law. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction.

Privacy

What we collect. No accounts, no ads, and no tracking cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and counts page views without identifying you. If you submit a project, we keep the link you submitted and the time. If you email us, we keep the email.

Where it lives. The site is hosted by Vercel and its domain is served by Cloudflare. Both process request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site, under their own privacy policies.

Developer data. Public GitHub usernames, names, and avatars are personal data even when public. We show them only to credit the people who built a project, and we remove them on request (see Removal). We never email developers at addresses found on GitHub.

How long. Analytics are aggregate. Submissions are kept while the listing exists. Removal requests are kept as a dated record of what we did.

Your rights. You can ask to access, correct, or delete information about you, or withdraw consent, by writing to hello@aiongithub.com. Grievances go to the Grievance Officer named under Removal.
